## Mathematics Program

There are many general math courses which can be taken through the Mathematics and Computer Science Department. We have worked hard to ensure that most of our courses fit into a transfer outline and cover a broad range of disciplines in order to meet the needs of many students. To help you understand what courses are offered we have outlined critical information below.

The Mathematics and Computer Science Department offers several classes in
Mathematics. These include:

**Pre-College Courses
**(These courses build math skills in preparation to take college level
math courses.)

MATH 105 (Mathematical Literacy)

MATH 106 (Mathematical Literacy with Review)

MATH 109 (Fast Track Algebra)

MATH 112 (Intermediate Algebra)

MATH 114 (Technical Math I)

**Core Courses**

(Core Courses, Non-STEM Transfer Courses and STEM Transfer Courses satisfy LCC's math requirement for an associate degree.)

MATH 115 (Technical Math II)

MATH 117 (Math for Business)

MATH 118 (Art of Geometry)

MATH 119 (Math - Applications for Living)

**Non-STEM Transfer Courses**

(These courses are designed for students planning to transfer to a university and pursue a Non-STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) field.)

MATH 112 (Intermediate Algebra - Satisfies Core only for curricula of 2015-16 or earlier)

MATH 120 (College Algebra)

MATH 130 (Finite Math w/ College Algebra)

MATH 141 (Calculus with Applications)

MATH 201 (Math for Elementary Teachers I)

MATH 202 (Math for Elementary Teachers II)

**STEM Transfer Courses**

(These courses are designed for students planning to transfer to a university and pursue a degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) field.)

MATH 121 (Precalculus I)

MATH 122 (Precalculus II)

MATH 151 (Calculus I)

MATH 161 (Honors Calculus I)

MATH 152 (Calculus II)

MATH 162 (Honors Calculus II)

MATH 253 (Calculus III)

MATH 254 (Intro to Differential Equations)

MATH 260 (Linear Algebra)

*Students headed into the calculus sequence (MATH 151, 152, etc...) should take MATH 121/122.

*If you do not need to take MATH 122 or MATH 151 for your degree program, you may wish to take MATH 120 (College Algebra) as an alternative to pre-calculus.
