eLearning Instructor Support and Resources

  • CMS Access, Standards and Usage Policies - Comprehensive list of CMS standards and usage policies to provide Instructor guidance concerning accessibility, usage, course design, communication, and technology, as well as access via the Guest Access Request Form.
  • Course Management System (CMS) Workshops - Delivered in partnership with the Center for Teaching Excellence, multiple D2L and Instructional Design workshops are offered each semester that focus on CMS Standards and features, course design, and educational technology tools.
  • Instructor Resource Site - All-in-one site that provides easy access to a variety of useful eLearning resources that focus on utilizing D2L features, useful Instructor and technology tips, and supporting digital teaching at the college.
  • Instructional Designers - Consult with faculty and departments on best practices for D2L use, developing instructional materials for face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses, as well as utilizing technology and multimedia for instruction. The Instructional Designers hold Office Hours in each department throughout each semester. Click here to view the current schedule.
  • Teaching Online in D2L - Teaching Online with D2L is designed to help Instructors become familiar with the tools and features of the Course Management System, currently D2L, in order to create and teach an online course. The training utilizes instructional videos to demonstrate how to use D2L. Topics include how to set up a grade book, adding content to a course, building assessments, communication options, and more.
