Small Group Instructional Feedback (SGIF)

Small Group Instructional Feedback (SGIF) sessions are available mid-semester to faculty wishing to assess their teaching and student learning, while there is still time for improvement. Mid-semester evaluations afford the instructor time to make crucial and often easy changes. Although end-of-the-semester evaluations are useful for future teaching of the course, mid-semester evaluations benefit you and your students immediately.

How SGIFs work: Mid-semester, a CTE consultant facilitates a small group discussion with your students during the first or last 30 to 40 minutes of a class session. Student responses remain anonymous, and are reported to the instructor in a confidential meeting soon after the SGIF session. Here, the consultant shares findings and discusses possible strategies for increased learning. Use the following link for more information on SGIF's and other assessment activities.

For more information about mid-semester evaluations, contact Leslie Johnson at (517) 483-9731. You may request a SGIF by filling out the form below.

Your confidential submission will be received by Leslie Johnson, the CTE Faculty Director, who will follow up to confirm your request.
