Q: Who can use the TLC Computer Lab?

Currently registered students and staff are welcome to use TLC Computer Lab. The Computer Lab is open Mon – Thurs, 7:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m.; Fri – Sun, 11:00 a.m. -7:00 p.m.


Q: What ID should I bring to get in to the computer lab?

Students must have a valid StarCard to access to the TLC Computer Lab. If you do not have a StarCard, please take a valid picture ID to StarZone in the Gannon Building. The 1st StarCard is free. If you lose or damage your card, replacements are $15.00. If you missed your card in your car or home, we will offer you a Temporary pass but that is limited to one time per semester.



Q: How do I log into the Network?

A network account and username are created when students register for classes at LCC, so that students can login to the network and access myLCC to look up their username and set their own password. If you are on campus and you don't know your username or password, do the following:

  • Turn on the LCC computer
  • At the Network Login prompt enter techid for the username and password and click OK
  • When you login, double click Internet Explorer icon, you will be linked to the LCC web site
  • If you are a new student, you need to click "SIGN IN" at the top of the page then click the link that says claim my account.
  • Once you received your username and created a password, you can log into myLCC from the LCC home page.

After you claim the myLCC account, you need to log off the computer and wait for 10 minutes and then you be able to use your username and password to login the network. If you do not wait, your account may become locked -causing an even longer wait time.

Q: What do we use our username for?

Every LCC student has a network account. Usernames are assigned when students register for classes at LCC. Students have to use the username to login to the campus network in order to access various computing resources, such as the ability to print or through the LCC home page to access myLCC Home, where you can access various online resources.


Q: Do I still need a password to login banner system?

Not if you log into myLCC first and click the Banner link from within myLCC.  If you have any problems, please contact Help Desk at 483-5221.


Q: How do I log into the D2L?

  • Launch your browser and go to LCC home page (

  • Click on D2L in the upper right corner of the page.

  • Enter your myLCC Username and password


Q: How do I get and use my LCC e-mail account? Where can I access it?

All registered LCC students will have an e-mail account provided by the College within 24 hours of enrolling. The LCC e-mail account is accessible through myLCC.

To open your mail:

  1. Log into myLCC

  2. Click on the "Email" link located in the right corner

  3. Enter your Username and password

  4. You are now within the google e-mail system

Q: If I have my own e-mail account, how do I use it?

Instead of using your LCC e-mail, if you want to use your own e-mail account for your class, your need to forward the LCC Google e-mail to your personal e-mail account


Q: How can I find out what software is installed on the computers in the TLC Computer Lab?

The TLC Computer Lab is divided into sections, each section supports different areas on campus. For a full description of all applications available in each section you can visit the TLC Computer Lab page at: /computerlab/facilities.aspx, or ask the lab staff for assistance.


Q: How to print from the computer lab?

Printing credits are required to print to any student printer at LCC. The number of credits required to print varies by the type of job and printer. An initial allotment of 200 credits will be given to each enrolled student every semester and a user may accrue up to a maximum of 500 total credits. (You may check the status of your account at any time by logging into myLCC Portal.) The LCC printing system operates using the following credit assessment: Laser Printing - 1 credit per page Color Printing - 5 credits per page Plotting - 20 credits per page Unused credits expire after one year beginning August 2017.  

Q: Why can't I print?

If you are logged in as "techid", you will be unable to print on campus. The "techid" user name is provided by the college for your first time use only login to the Network. After you get your username and set up your own password in the myLCC, you need to use your username and password to establish your printing ability. Printing has been disabled for techid.

Another reason you may not be able to print that is your print account balance is at 0. To purchase additional print credits, visit


Q: Does LCC provide Internet access for students from home?



Q: Where can I find my class schedule?

To register for classes or access online student services, you will need the following information:

Log into Banner Web Self Service, click on the student tab, click registration then select view student detailed schedule.

Q: Can I get help with my homework in the lab?

Lab technicians are available to assist you with hardware/software problems and to answer general application questions. If you are struggling with course content, The Learning Commons has tutors available for many of the program areas. They can be reached at 483-1206.


Q: Does the lab have headphones?

No, you must provide your own.


Q: Where can I find instructions on APA & MLA styles?

The LCC Library web site has information on citing sources. using APA, MLA and other styles.
