Developing Goals

Building a Support Network | Developing Goals

By now you probably have some good ideas of the activities needed to accomplish your long-term goal, or major objective! There are many methods of reaching your goals of skill development.

Keep in mind that it is possible that a structured classroom education is not in your plans. Maybe acquiring skills through a series of jobs is more acceptable, or entering an apprenticeship, so you can learn on the job? Sometimes all that is needed is an introductory software seminar and specific textbooks to move you in the right direction, so you can learn on your own? Consider what it is that you need to move toward your major goal. If you find formal education in your plans, then have a counselor or an advisor help you set up an academic curriculum schedule, lay-out prerequisites and find preliminary skill courses. You also might need the assistance of the financial aid advisors.
